Vancouver Plumber DIY Tips, How To Install a Kitchen Sink
inurtownplumbing.ca Plumbing in Vancouver DIY tips. How to install a kitchen sink with basic tools. Once your counter top hole is cut you can install a kitchen sink quite easily. First thing you want to do is install the basin clips so the sink is wedged up against the counter and held firmly in place. The next step is to install the basket strainers. Use plumbers putty under the rim of the basket strainer to create a water tight seal and tighten by hand. The excess plumbers putty will squeeze out and create a nice seal and allow you to center the basket strainer in the sink basin. The next thing is to install the tail piece using the brass tubing and the plastic seal as the connector. Tighten up the brass by hand and give it one small turn with a pair of pliers. Slide the slip joints onto the brass connections, and tighten the slip joints by hand as well. The P trap should line up nicely with the plumbing pipes, allowing you to tighten the union nut on the P trap by hand. Caution Do not use a wrench on the P trap union nut. Finally, tighten everything by hand and you’re done the first half of your kitchen sink installation. For professional help call: In Ur Town Plumbing — 778-829-1448
